Mustard oil should make your eyes water a little. That sharpness is allyl isothiocyanate — and refining removes it, which is why supermarket mustard oil smells of nothing.
We work with a wooden ghani press in Manikganj that turns at low RPM so the seed never overheats. The oil is settled in steel drums for seven days and bottled without any refining, bleaching or deodorising.

No. Most branded mustard oil is refined and deodorised. Ghani oil is unrefined, darker and much more pungent.
